Sauvie Island : Sauvie Island is the largest island in Oregon, located in the Columbia River about 10 miles North of Portland. In addition to a wildlife refuge on the island, there's also hunting areas as well as a hiking trail to a lighthouse. On November 1, 2008, I hiked the 3 miles from a dirt parking area to the lighthouse and then back, a total of 6 miles. These photos should give you some idea of the hike. Thanks for looking.
